In the Southern Sea there once stood an ancient utopia—a civilization of peace whose advanced technology, architecture, and engineering shaped harbors, cathedrals, and luminous halls. Scholars charted stars while artisans cast glass and iron; knowledge flowed as freely as the tides. Masters of the deep, they built amphibious vessels to roam the reefs and discover ocean mysteries. In the heart of the island, a portal was built to harness a mysterious energy emanating from the island’s core.
A doorway opened for moments, then sealed, those who dared step through never returned. Then the great volcano erupted without warning. Some fled on ships; many perished for lack of boats. A few sought refuge in the temple, stepping through the portal to escape as lava drowned the city into ruin. They were hurled into a distant future, arriving safely on the island a thousand years forward. .
But travel through time meant their days would expire as a year, anywhere except the island—nature’s condition to prevent a paradox beyond. The survivors climbed out of the cavern where the portal remained, buried in rock and water. They eventually learned of the anachronism, and sought to master it, but were unable to pass again through the portal.
The surviving clan of fae and humans, rebuilt their lives seeking harmony with the law of exchange, respecting time as the only treasure. Explore the portal arc in Episode 6.
