Places & Legends

From the bustling markets of Airovale village to the storm-carved Crescent Islands, from the fae-guarded cliffs of Canyon Myst to the buried utopia of the Ancient World—every location in Airovale carries its own legend.

Discover the Mystic Portal where time becomes passage, explore the hidden Temple Gold that Mahala guards, and trace the paths of airships across sapphire seas and magnetic storms.

Characters & Fae

The people of Airovale—aeronauts, artisans, mystics, and merchants—shape this world through their choices and their costs. Meet the crew of the Nereid, the enigmatic Mahala who guards ancient secrets, and the fae guardians who enforce the cosmic balance.

From village elders who remember the old ways to shipwrecked survivors who became the first Mystics, every character pays the price the Law of Exchange demands.

Law of Exchange

Nothing is given without something taken in return. The Law of Exchange is the cosmic principle that governs all of Airovale—every bargain, every portal passage, every moment of borrowed time.

Time displacement stretches seconds, unspools hours, and rearranges memory. The island keeps score; shortcuts borrow from the future, and every gift expects an answer. Those who step through the Mystic Portal learn that time itself becomes the currency—and the cost.

Because in Airovale, time is the only treasure.

Airovale Timeline

Trace the ages of Airovale: from the peaceful ancient utopia of advanced engineering and amphibious vessels, through the cataclysmic eruption that buried a civilization, to the desperate escape through a one-way time portal that sent survivors a millennium forward.

Follow the rebuilding on Canyon Myst, where fae and humans forged a new covenant under the Law of Exchange. Watch as the scattered islands developed their own cultures—naturalist settlers on the Crescents, merchants and aeronauts in Airovale village, mystics on the cliffs.

The timeline weaves through eight chapters of adventure, mystery, and the constant reminder that time is the only treasure.

Airovale Lore — Frequently Asked Questions

What is lore in Airovale?

Lore is the accumulated history, legend, and hidden knowledge of a fantasy world. In Airovale it is captured across four areas you can explore — legendary places and their stories, the characters and fae who shaped events, the ancient rules that govern every bargain in the Southern Sea, and a timeline tracing the world from its origins to the steampunk present. Each area features a video, interactive content, and detail you won't find in the video episodes or novel alone.

Who are the fae in Airovale?

The fae of Airovale are not the winged sprites of folklore. They are ancient, powerful beings residing in specific places — Canyon Myst, the Southern Sea, and previously the old world beneath the ash. Their magic grows with age, not birthright, and some have lived long enough to remember the civilization that vanished before the current world began. They keep their own laws, strike their own bargains, and answer to no one who hasn't earned their trust.

What happened to the Ancient World?

An entire civilization was swallowed by volcanic catastrophe and sealed beneath layers of ash below Canyon Myst. Its streets, its machines, and its knowledge were preserved by the same disaster that destroyed it. Legends say it can still be reached — but only by a mix of human courage and fae magic. The journey requires diving deep below the surface of the island, through an underwater labyrinth of lava, rubble, and jagged caverns.

How does steampunk and fantasy mix in Airovale?

Airovale is set among volcanic islands in a pre-industrial Southern Sea where zeppelin technology and fae magic developed side by side. Neither undermines the other — airships move trade and people across the archipelago while ancient forces govern what happens when they arrive. The technology is human invention; the rules that govern consequence belong to something older.

How is magic learned in Airovale?

Magic is a skill — it can be learned and mastered, but it does not respond to youth. Magic only resonates with years of life; the longer the life, the greater the ability to invoke or command an action. The fae are often associated with magic, but they still have to learn it. Their ability to live extraordinarily long lifespans — some over a thousand years — is the reason their power runs so deep. Humans normally die before magic would respond to the simplest incantation, which is why the immortal human characters in Airovale are able to see the future, command storms, and heal others.
