Airovale is a steampunk fantasy saga of marooned aeronauts, fae guardians, and forbidden love on an island where time itself is the only treasure. The story reveals itself through three lenses: the novel explores the characters' inner thoughts, the soundtrack gives voice to their emotions, and ten cinematic episodes bring the world of Airovale to life.

A storm casts a zeppelin crew onto the uncharted island of Canyon Myst — a place where fae guardians enforce an ancient Law of Exchange and time itself moves differently than in the world they left behind. What begins as a search for fortune becomes a reckoning with what is actually worth keeping.
Airovale invites you to ask: what is time worth, and what would you trade for more precious moments, while wasting the minutes at hand?

The Complete Playlist of Airovale Cinematic Clips
Airovale is a steampunk fantasy saga told through three complementary perspectives: a novel, an original soundtrack, and a cinematic episode series. Set across the islands of the Southern Sea, the story follows Aden, an ambitious aeronaut whose search for fortune leaves him marooned on the lost island of Canyon Myst. Along the way he encounters fae guardians, forbidden romance, cursed gold, and the mysterious Law of Exchange. Each medium reveals a different dimension of the same journey — the novel explores the characters' thoughts, the soundtrack expresses their emotions, and the cinematic episodes bring the world and its events to life.

Airovale draws from Jef Gray's military background and world travels. The saga's multicultural cast — East European and American aeronauts — reflects the belief that the best stories cross borders. The central idea, that time is the treasure we trade for everything else, came from watching people across cultures spend their lives the same way: working certain hours for uncertain futures. The world was inspired by a cruise to the Canary Islands. The author marveled at how different each island felt — hundreds of volcanoes, lush vegetation along shorelines in some places, deserts, lava parks, and black-sand beaches in others, all within a single archipelago. That landscape became the foundation for the Southern Sea where the saga unfolds, with each island carrying its own climate, character, and secrets. Explore the imagined geography on the interactive world map.
The Law of Exchange says nothing is free — every gain has a cost. On Canyon Myst, time is the steepest price: one day on the island can pass as a year back in Airovale. The story uses this as a reflection on trading time for what we desire — at the expense of time with those we love.
